BUTYL

Butyl Rubber is impermeable to most common gases and has good resistance to sunlight and ozone. Its superior resistance to abrasion and excellent flexing as well as dampening characteristics makes it ideal for rugged industrial service.

ETHYLENE PROPYLENE

Ethylene Propylene is a polymer with outstanding properties for good weather aging and ozone resistance. It has excellent water, heat and chemical resistance as well as resistance to gas permeability. Oil and solvent resistance is poor.

325°F
Low Temperature
- 60°F
PSI Range

SILICONE

Silicone rubber offers good resistance to weathering and compression set as well as fatigue, flexing and heat aging. The more exotic fluorosilicones have unusual oil resistance characteristics.

NEOPRENE

Neoprene is an all purpose polymer with many desirable characteristics, such as high resilience with low compression set and flame resistant. Aging is good with some natural ozone resistance and an average oil resistance.

Low Temperature
- 50°F
PSI Range
500 - 3000

NITRILE

Nitrile is a general-purpose oil resistant polymer which has good compression set and abrasion resistance and tensile strength. Good solvent, oil and water resistance which makes it a better choice than neoprene in these applications.

250°F
Low Temperature
- 40°F
PSI Range

NITRILE WHITE

White Nitrile is a general-purpose oil resistant polymer with FDA compounds. It may be used around food processing and with the same characteristics a general Nitrile material. Nitriles should not be used in solvents such as Acetone or MEK.

URETHANE

Urethanes come in two types, which is millable and castable. Millable surface is low friction with a good oil resistance but not water. Castable has a good compression at high hardness levels with good ozone resistance but poor heat resistance.

PURE GUM

Natural Rubber has high resilience, good compression set with high tear strength and low crack growth. Oil and solvent resistance are poor and ozone attacks it but it does have a very good abrasion resistance.

HYDRIN

Epichlorohydrin is an outstanding polymer, exhibiting better qualities than nitrile or neoprene. Oil and solvent resistance is very good with low swell in gasoline. Low temperature performances with ozone weathering and water resistance are very good.

Low Temperature
- 50°F
PSI Range

HYPOLAN

Hypolan has very good resistance to oxidation, ozone and good flame resistance. It is also excellent in abrasion resistance but not recommended for immersion in water. Hypolan has a resistance to oil and solvent between neoprene and nitriles.
